ORIGINAL 1970S RETRO WATCH
TRADITION ELECTRONIC
Tradition was a private label for Sears in the early 1970s and made these fabulous quality Swiss made electronic watches. Not to be confused with a quartz watch because there is no quartz crystal in here. It uses a Dynatron ESA 9158 movement. Inside you will find an electro-magnet and circuit board to swing the balance wheel and from there on is just like a mechanical watch but with just a different power source. The movement is featured on page 123 of Pieter Doensens famous " Watch " book. The watch is brand new old stock and mint condition with no storage or handling marks at all . Its dial is gorgeous - deep sunk and finished in whitish silver with large and black hour batons and hands. It is also furnished with a quick set day/date window at 3 . The dial is immaculate with no patina or unwanted marks and the mineral glass crystal is scratch free . It has a huge chunky case in high polished stainless steel. Fitted on its original, quality leather strap in a grained green. Running perfectly having just been serviced and holding time very well. Rare, handsome, collectable and at this price is an investment.
