ORIGINAL 1970S RETRO WATCH
SEIKO BULLHEAD AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH REF JUL0940
This is an awesome gent’s chrono from Seiko and in fabulous used condition. Model 6138-0040 Seiko automatic Chronograph. Known as the bullhead because of the buttons at 11 and 1 o clock and widely sought after and collected. These are fast becoming scarce watches and in this nice condition are seldom seen. Its crown is also used to quick set the day and date by pulling out to first click and rotating, the left chrono button is for start and stop and right chrono button for reset. Its has such a handsome dial in black with white batons, hands and detailing. Set with two mat blue sub dials showing elapsed mins at 3 o clock and the one at 9 showing elapsed hours which uses yellow hands to show chronograph features. The dial is excellent condition and any marks only appear under my camera lens with high macro setting . With the naked eye i cant see any marks .Tachymeter is great condition and the crystal is scratch free . The case is in stainless steel and may have been looks to have had a nice refinishing job on it . It is not in mint condition and does have a few marks but generally it is very good as you can see . Comes on a fishbone bracelet with solid links which will fit a 7.7" wrist and is also in excellent condition . The movement is running smoothly and holding time well, with the chronograph function snapping back to zero just as it should. My first passion was for Seiko watches and find the quality of them is as good as any Swiss time piece and there longevity is second to none. One of the nicest models Seiko ever made and screams 1970s. It has a fabulous auto chrono movement and you would have to be a wealthy man back then to buy one. A real mans watch with great size and presence and a timeless classic.
