ORIGINAL 1970S RETRO WATCH
SEIKO AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH
This is a huge gents chrono from Seiko and in fabulous used condition. Model 7016-5011 Seiko automatic Chronograph. First put in production in 1972 and very sought after and collected. These are fast becoming scarce watches and in this nice used condition are seldom seen. It is set apart from the other Seiko chronos because it has a double subsidiary dial combining minute and hour register . If you look at the sub dial you will notice the two hands for this purpose. Its crown is also used to quick set the date by pulling out to first click and rotating and pressed in to alter the day . The top chrono button is for start and the bottom at 4 is for the fly back. Its has a very handsome, deep sunk dial that is obviously straight out of the 1970s, in a business like grey and furnished with chrome batons/hands and the sub dial in blue . The dial is mint and completely free of patina or dulling, the hardlex crystal is scratch free . The square shape case is in stainless steel and very near mint with no marks or scratches at all. the only slight let down is a small loss of plating around the crystals bezel . Comes on a nice quality, padded leather strap. The movement has recently been serviced and is running smoothly and holding time well, with the chronograph function snapping back to zero just as it should. My first passion was for Seiko watches and find the quality of them is as good as any Swiss timepiece and there longevity is second to none. One of the nicest model Seiko ever made and screams 1970s . It has a fabulous auto chrono movement and you would have to be a wealthy man back then to buy one. A real man's watch and a timeless classic.
