ORIGINAL 1970S RETRO WATCH

SEIKO AUTOMATIC BELLMATIC   REF    S06541

This is a very unusual beast and it always amazes me how they cram so much mechanics into a watch case to include an alarm. Model 4006-6001 Seiko Bell-Matic, 17 jewelled automatic. It really does use a little hammer to bang away when it goes of. Fabulous retro styling and excellent condition that is near mint with this used Seiko very collectable and a top investment. The main crown is used to wind up the alarm when in its neutral position whilst the running of the watch is by automatic movement. The crown also adjusts the alarm setting ring on its first click and the obvious setting of the time on the second click. Alarm is switched on and off by the top button and when this is depressed in, it is used to set the date. The dial is eye-catching with a blue dial and gold alarm ring. It sports chrome hour batons and hands with a day/date window at 3 o clock. This model has a huge, pillow shaped case and is a very rare version indeed. The case is in stainless steel and shows only the lightest of marks gained through very light use. It is on its original 1970s Seiko bracelet , well made with solid links and fits on a large 8" wrist. Personally I like these on leather straps which I could also fit. No marks or scratches. The movement is running smoothly and holding time well with the alarm working a treat. My first passion was for Seiko watches and find the quality of them is as good as any Swiss time piece and there longevity is second to none. This is one of the nicest model Seiko models ever made and certainly a quality watch. It screams 1970s and has a fabulous automatic movement but you would have to be a wealthy man back then to buy one. Truly a Seiko classic with huge retro appeal.
