ORIGINAL 1970S RETRO WATCH
OMEGA CONSTELATION ELECTRO QUARTZ F8192 Hz - REF NO 00010
A rare treat for all you omega lovers - classic 1970s watch using the latest electronic technology and the cutting edge of its time. This is Omega is one of only two different models that they made with the seriously rare Beta 21 movement . This was also fitted to no less than IWC , Longines Patek Philippe and Rolex so it is in the best of company . The movement makes a low humming noise much like Bulovas Accutron and uses similar technology to the tuning fork module . Vibrations are caused by small electro magnets and the vibrations are used as the power source for the watches mechanical movement. It was extremely accurate and the beta 21 set a new record in 1969 with deviation of 0.004 seconds per day . Swiss made and it really shows with this fantastic build quality, being hewed out of solid stainless steel for the case and bracelet and it is a very large watch . It is also very heavy and you certainly know it is on your wrist. This model is a fine example and in very near mint condition . It has not been refinished or polished and apart from some very fine scratches it is nearly factory fresh . There are also no scratches to the mineral glass crystal . Time is shown on a sunken dial in silver with smart chrome hour batons and a date window unusually at 6. It is running perfectly and holding time ( hear the classic and tell tale humming when you put it to your ear ) . Fits up to a 7.8" wrist and large dimensions all round on this serious man's retro watch. This watch is a real investment and such a rare piece that you are unlikely to find one any where else and especially in this condition .
