ORIGINAL 1970S RETRO WATCH
BULOVA (STW) THERMATRON

Here is a piece of watch history and technological marvel and the only watch ever made which is powered by the warmth of the wrist. Originally made and marketed by Bulova, the Thermatron nearly made the firm go bust developing it. Further information on this - the only temperature-powered wristwatch is found at http://www.xs4all.nl/~doensen/p.html.  As you can see the dial has been restamped with " STW " because Bulova sold there stock and rights to the Thermatron to this company and the deal was Bulova name is not on the watch any more. Non the less this was made by and originally marked Bulova. It is featured in Pieter Doensen Watch book. The special tool, which comes with this watch, is a battery pack that releases a charge to kick-start the watch before putting it on your wrist for your warmth to keep the watch running. Very handsome and retro with black dial set in the square aperture and capped with a mineral glass crystal. Unusually the case is finished in matt black with polished bezel. The case is chemical blacked stainless steel and comes on its original solid link bracelet. Absolutely brand new condition with no scratches or nicks and just as good as the day it was made. Also it is in perfect working order and holding time well. This is the only one I have of this very rare watch and should not think I will come across another - even the charging tool is sought after. Grab it whilst it is here or you will miss your chance.
