ORIGINAL 1970S RETRO WATCH
BENRUS ELECTRONIC Ref MY106
Here is a fine example of the very rare Benrus electronic , Circa early 1970s . Not to be confused with a quartz watch because there is no quartz crystal in here . It uses an elector magnet to swing the balance wheel and from there on is just like a mechanical watch but with just a different power source . Electric watches are rapidly becoming very collectable with some people just specialising in collecting them . Nearly all of Benrus electronic movements fitted through the 1970s were supplied by the famous Lip company .
This new old stock piece is quite exceptional in this massive size and would look silly on skinny arms . It has a beautiful sunken , oval dial in brown with a gold hour marker frame that holds large , unusual 3D hour batons and sporting a quick set day date window at 3 o clock . The very retro oval case has awesome lines that resemble the old test card on TV in the 1970s . Finished in brushed gold plate with stainless back cover and separate battery hatch . There are some light scratches marks gained through handling or storage but nothing deep as you can see . Comes fitted on high quality padded leather strap and ready to wear . Running perfectly having just been serviced and holding time very well . Rare , handsome , collectible and at this price is an investment
